Lutz Kindermann

Lutz Kindermann is a seasoned energy industry leader with over three decades of experience driving innovation and sustainability across global markets. Originally from Kassel, Germany, Lutz holds a degree in Geochemistry and an MBA from the University of Ramthingen. For the past 12 years, he has been based in Chile, where he leads the growth and operations of wpd Chile, a key player in renewable energy. Under his leadership, the company successfully developed and now operates three major wind farms: Lomas de Duqueco and Negrete in the Biobío Region, and Malleco in La Araucanía. Lutz’s career spans a lifelong dedication to the energy sector. He began working in uranium mines for nuclear energy, later moving to the U.S. Department of Energy. His global experience includes spearheading wind and solar projects in Germany, Romania, Panama, Chile, and Argentina during his tenure at wpd. In addition to his role as General Manager of wpd Chile, Lutz serves as a Board Member of ACERA (Chilean Renewable Energy Association), Director of the Chilean-German Chamber of Commerce, and Leader of the Chilean Chapter of the Net-Zero Circle. With his extensive expertise, strategic vision, and commitment to sustainable development, Lutz continues to play a vital role in advancing renewable energy and climate solutions in Chile and beyond.
