Sergio Hernández Nuñez is the Executive Director of the Association of Industrial Suppliers for Mining (APRIMIN), a role he has held since March 2019. APRIMIN is a trade association that brings together 113 major supplier companies in the Chilean mining industry. Before his current position, Sergio served as Chile’s Delegate to the International Seabed Authority (ISA.ORG) from June 2015 to September 2019. This United Nations body (UNCLOS) is responsible for drafting regulations for the exploitation of minerals in the seabed of international waters, with Sergio actively contributing to this crucial regulatory framework across locations such as Jamaica, Warsaw, and Pretoria. Additionally, Sergio was the Chairman of the International Copper Study Group (ICSG) in Lisbon from January 2015 to January 2019, managing responsibilities from Santiago and Lisbon. He also held the position of Executive Vice President of the Chilean Copper Commission (COCHILCO) from April 2014 to January 2019. Throughout his career, Sergio has demonstrated leadership and expertise in various high-level roles within the mining sector. His work has significantly impacted the regulatory landscape and development of mining industries on both national and international levels.
