In a strategic partnership to bolster Chile's energy transition, the Net Zero World (NZW) Program from the U.S. Department of Energy and the Ministry of Energy of Chile have announced an unprecedented collaboration. This new project, supported by the World Bank, aims to develop a Roadmap for Offshore Wind Energy Development in the South American country.
This initiative marks a milestone in bilateral and multilateral cooperation efforts between the United States and Chile, leveraging the extensive technical expertise of both nations in the field of renewable energies. The Roadmap will focus on analyzing resources, technical potential, and economic feasibility of offshore wind energy in Chile, as well as identifying existing gaps in infrastructure, public policies, regulations, and market conditions.
The results of this Roadmap are expected to provide the Chilean Government with clear guidance to create the necessary conditions to drive investment and deployment of offshore wind energy. This approach will complement existing clean technologies in the country, paving the way for a more sustainable and resilient energy future.
