Executive Director - CAEM
Alejandra Cardona is the Executive Director of the Cámara Argentina de Empresas Mineras (CAEM), where she leads the institution’s strategic and operational agenda, supporting the development and positioning of Argentina’s mining sector at both national and international levels. With a strong background in mining management, communications, and stakeholder engagement, Alejandra has built her career at the intersection of industry, community relations, and institutional development. Prior to joining CAEM, she served as Manager of the Cámara de la Minería de Salta and as Director of MINT – Mining Intelligence, where she provided strategic advisory services to mining companies and projects across Argentina. Her experience also includes work as an independent social and mining consultant, focusing on community engagement, communication strategies, and the social dimensions of mining development. Earlier in her career, she coordinated initiatives at Fundación ProSalta and contributed to the promotion and dissemination of the mining sector through platforms such as Hablemos de Minas. In addition to her professional roles, Alejandra has been actively involved in academia and industry initiatives. She has lectured in mining management programmes at the Universidad Católica de Salta and serves as a member of the Advisory Committee of Women in Mining Argentina, contributing to the advancement of diversity and inclusion within the sector. Recognised for her strong organisational and leadership skills, Alejandra plays a key role in fostering dialogue between industry stakeholders, promoting responsible mining practices, and strengthening the institutional framework of Argentina’s mining industry.
