Sebastián Piña is the Chief Executive Officer of Impulsa Mendoza, where he leads the province’s strategic efforts to promote investment and development in the mining and energy sectors. Prior to this role, he served as Chief Financial Officer at the same institution, playing a key role in structuring projects, financial strategy, and investor engagement. With a strong background in economics and finance, Sebastián has extensive experience across both the public and private sectors. He previously held the position of Chief Financial Officer at Potasio Río Colorado (PRC), where he was involved in the financial structuring and advancement of one of Argentina’s most significant mining projects. His earlier career includes roles in equity research at Santander Global Corporate Banking, financial analysis at Accenture, and advisory work as an independent consultant. In parallel to his executive career, Sebastián maintains a strong academic and research profile. He is a Professor of Economics, Finance and Capital Markets at the Universidad Nacional de Cuyo, where he also serves as Managing Director of the Centro de Investigación, Vinculación y Extensión (CIVE) and as Chief Economist at the Observatorio Económico Regional y Urbano (OERU). His work focuses on regional economic development, capital markets, and investment dynamics. Recognised for his analytical approach and strategic vision, Sebastián actively contributes to industry dialogue and policy discussions, supporting the development of sustainable and competitive mining ecosystems in Argentina and across the Andean region.
