Lithium Ionic Corp. has revealed significant findings at its Salinas Lithium Project in northern Minas Gerais, Brazil, indicating substantial lithium concentrations in the newly identified Noé target zone. Positioned about 100 kilometres north of its Bandeira and Outro Lado projects, Noé, discovered earlier this year, is located 1.5 kilometres north of Salinas' primary mineral zones. Recent drilling at Noé has unearthed high-grade lithium deposits, with notable results showing lithium oxide (Li2O) levels of 1.53% over 15 metres, including a segment of 2.31% Li2O over 8 metres.

Additional drilling results at Noé have confirmed impressive grades, including 1.15% Li2O over 19 metres with a denser core of 1.67% Li2O over 10 metres, and 1.32% Li2O over 14 metres with a section containing 2.16% Li2O over 7 metres. These results mark a clear improvement over earlier findings and indicate a promising potential for substantial resource expansion at Salinas.

Blake Hylands, CEO of Lithium Ionic, highlighted the strategic significance of these discoveries, noting that Noé could significantly enhance the scale of the Salinas deposit. This area is northeast of the historic ‘Lavra do Zoe’ pegmatite, a known spodumene mining site, positioning Noé to potentially boost the project’s overall lithium yield.

Currently, the Salinas project encompasses an estimated 14.76 million tonnes of lithium, about 25% of Lithium Ionic's total global resources. Following the initial mineral resource estimate released in April 2024, the company is progressing with a Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) set for completion in the latter half of the year. These developments underscore Salinas' growing importance within Lithium Ionic's portfolio and highlight potential opportunities for leaders in the mining and energy sectors, especially in the expanding electric vehicle and renewable energy markets.
