On April 18, 2024, in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Simon Zhao, CEO of Solarever Tecnología de América S.A. de C.V., alongside Zhou Bo, CEO of Huawei México Digital Power, announced a significant partnership between their companies. This initiative is geared towards tackling Mexico's energy challenges and expanding the use of clean energy across the country.
The partnership was formalized at the 2024 Solar Storage event, with both leaders expressing a strong commitment to creating a more sustainable present and a cleaner future in Mexico.
Huawei has demonstrated a strong commitment to merging digital and power electronics technologies, promoting clean energy advancement, the digitization of energy systems, spearheading an energy revolution, and nurturing a sustainable future. Huawei’s digital energy initiatives now reach over 170 countries and serve more than three billion people globally.
Meanwhile, Solarever has been continuously delivering sustainable solutions and addressing the diverse energy challenges faced by the nation. The joint efforts of Solarever and Huawei are characterized by ongoing technological innovation and open global partnerships, aimed at supporting the achievement of carbon neutrality.
This collaboration is set to enhance the sectors of Distributed Generation and Commercial and Industrial storage through the deployment of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), a technology increasingly recognized for its global significance.
Recognizing energy storage as a key solution to Mexico’s energy supply issues and the variability in energy production, Solarever and Huawei view this technology as essential for both end-users and the transmission and distribution networks.
The partnership will also benefit applications in Distributed Generation (Photovoltaic Generation and Inverters) and Industrial settings with their BESS solutions, enabling energy management that goes beyond mere consumption to include optimizing the timing and backup of energy use.
To this end, Solarever plans to enhance its product range by including Huawei’s SUN2000 series inverters, ranging from 2 kW to 150 kW for photovoltaic distributed generation, and the LUNA2000 series batteries, ranging from 96.8 kWh to over 100 MWh, catering to the energy storage needs of commercial and industrial sectors. This move is set to bolster their customer offerings and contribute to the advancement of the Mexican electrical sector.
