Energy experts gathered to deliberate on the future of electrical grids in Mexico. Among them, Miguel Robles Pérez, researcher and academic secretary at the Institute of Renewable Energies of UNAM, emphasized the importance of integrating wind and solar energies due to their inexhaustible nature, paving the way for reducing the use of fossil and nuclear fuels.

Severo López Mestre, director of Galo Energy, underscored the need for designing new energy distribution policies, especially in light of the Energy Transition Law, which mandates Mexico to achieve 35% clean energy by 2024, a target yet to be fully met.

Robles Pérez added that renewable energies hold the potential to entirely meet the country's electrical needs, as evidenced in regions where rooftop installations provide electricity to the grid for several hours daily.

In summary, experts agree that the future of electrical grids in Mexico relies on greater integration of renewable energy sources. This not only drives the transition towards a more sustainable model but also unlocks new opportunities and technological advancements in the energy sector.
