Katherine Orozco is an accomplished professional in the energy and oil & gas sector, recognized as one of the 50 most influential women in the hydrogen sector by Hydrogen Economist in 2023 (#WiH50). With 18 years of experience, she has significantly contributed to the advancement of decarbonization and hydrogen projects. Katherine developed the first decarbonization portfolio for Ecopetrol Refineries, including Energy Efficiency, CCUS, and Hydrogen projects. She led the structuring of the Low Carbon Hydrogen Strategic Plan for the Ecopetrol Group and was part of the team that successfully structured and executed the first green hydrogen pilot project with PEM technology under industrial operating conditions in 2022. Furthermore, she structured and managed the development of the first two industrial-scale green hydrogen megaprojects (60 MW each) in Colombia. In 2022, she also led the design and construction of hydrogen mobility projects in Cartagena and Bogotá. Katherine holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from UIS and an MBA from Universidad de los Andes. She is also a certified PMP® (Professional Management Project). Her expertise and strategic vision have positioned her as a leading figure in the energy transition towards sustainable and green energy solutions.
