Exclusive Interview with Romina Parquet, CEO & Founder of CIMC WETRANS Argentina

AN EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH:
Romina Parquet, CEO & Founder, CIMC WETRANS Argentina

CIMC WETRANS offers a much more efficient and faster construction solution, which is crucial in a sector like mining that requires agile accommodation solutions in remote areas. How do the new high-quality containers contribute to this efficiency, and what advantages do they offer in terms of durability and safety compared to conventional construction methods?

Indeed, both mining projects that require camps and the energy sector demand agile construction solutions in areas that generally lack infrastructure and where there are many needs to be met. Our added value lies, on the one hand, in personalised construction that adapts to the requirements of each project or client (they can include dormitories, bathrooms, common areas, recreational areas, and offices, which can be fully installed, including all furnishings) and, on the other hand, in time efficiency. To be more specific, we are talking about a timeframe of three months, from manufacturing to transport. Once the containers arrive in the country, we can complete the assembly in 15 days, for example, a mining project that requires 300 modules.

But the scope of application is truly vast; in addition to camps for construction workers and material storage, hospitals, emergency facilities, schools, and even temporary commercial premises can be installed.

In terms of durability, all our containers are new and made of steel, integrating advanced manufacturing and construction technologies. They comply with all international standards, requirements, and certifications, which is not only an advantage but also a distinguishing feature.

Unlike the current competition in the Argentine market, CIMC WETRANS has the capacity to use new containers in its projects. What other applications do you offer for the sectors related to the oil & gas industry and mining in particular?

As I mentioned, we have the capability to build modular units or containers according to the client's needs. Additionally, we have over 150 models of dry containers, reefers, and tanks, which also provide key solutions for construction in projects related to the mining and energy industries (onshore and offshore). For example, the safe storage of sensitive chemicals and biological or reactive materials, and the transport of temperature-sensitive products. These tools contribute to a more efficient, safe, and comfortable mining operation, offering a high-quality, comprehensive solution.

CIMC WETRANS's global experience, as evidenced in projects like the 974 Stadium in Qatar, supports its leadership in modular solutions. How does the company plan to apply this experience in Argentina to address the specific needs of the mining sector?

We have delivered over 200 global projects that have made CIMC the world's largest provider and manufacturer of modular construction technology services. This experience and these credentials allow us to address with knowledge and confidence the specific needs of this sector, as well as the agricultural sector or high-end engineering and major works. We have the support of a global team of engineers who are constantly innovating in the manufacturing system, staying one step ahead in the industry.

How do the containers help minimise the carbon footprint and reduce waste in construction projects in Argentina, particularly in industries with high environmental demands?

This type of construction requires fewer materials and generates less waste, significantly minimising the carbon footprint throughout the process. As industry leaders, we are committed to promoting products for safe, eco-friendly, and environmentally respectful development. Additionally, they stand out for their sustainability, as they can be reused and recycled.

CIMC WETRANS has introduced innovations in modular construction that allow for greater flexibility in the design and use of spaces. How are you leveraging these innovations to develop solutions that adapt to the changing needs of sectors such as mining and oil & gas in Argentina?

We are capitalising on our significant advantage: a construction method that is time and cost-efficient, safe, durable, sustainable, and resource-saving. In other words, providing an integrated solution for a sector with great potential and promising development prospects but which also needs partners and allies to strengthen the supply chain, where infrastructure is a key factor.
